NEW! A range of non heated yoga classes in our downstairs studio room. These classes offer a complementary yoga practice to the more dynamic and challenging hot yoga styles that we offer.
A deeply calming practice, Yin Yoga allows you to stretch deeply into the fascia to relieve stress and improve flexibility. Postures are held passively for several minutes in order to access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the deep layers of connective tissue in the body. Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, primarily between the navel and the knees. Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium. Props may be used to help you go deep into the poses.
Gentle Restore Yoga
A nurturing, slow-paced and relaxing practice, a restorative yoga class typically involves five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends. You will use helpful props like bolsters, blankets and blocks to support your body so you can hold poses for longer periods of time and eliminate unnecessary straining.
What do I need?
You will need a yoga mat, 2 towels (one for your mat and one to cover the bolster) and water. Feel free to bring your own props such as blankets, bolsters and cushions. We have props available too.
